- Colourful clothes were used to emphasis the genre as after research most people on musicals stand out.
- A production card strongly relevant to the genre was used.
- A busy city with the location being famous for theatres and musicals was used as we thought that this may have helped re-enforce the genre.
- A stage and a spotlight was used over the protagonist to emphasise the genre as the protagonist was just about to perform a song.
- Over the shoulder shots are not common in musicals but in our musical opening we used the camera shot to show the audience what the protagonist was looking at (a map and a musical production leaflet) instead of using a point of view shot.

Question 1: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
After researching and analysing existing musicals we used the conventions of the musical genre and applied it to our musical opening e.g.
