Question 2: How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our protagonist represents teenagers exploring the big city in order to boost their music career. As well as being young, our protagonist was used to get the 'small girl in the big city' effect, this worked well as our protagonist was short. Also as well as using colourful clothes to emphasis the genre, the colourful clothes was used to express her individuality and to make her stand out in the grey dull city. Stereotypically young people are known for wanting to travel and explore, because this is our protagonists first time in the city she is amazed which was important to the audience to show she was new to the area. Commonly on same films  the music artist travels to the big city in order to get recognised and famous. At the beginning the high angle camera shot is used to exaggerate how small she is however the low angle shot shows her face looking up at the surroundings of the city.

Our second character represents the busy city people with personality features of being ignorant, impatient and rude. Commonly people who work in the city are dressed in black and grey, this worked well as our second character matched the stereotype accurately, also being taller, the second character, the second character is more intimidating to the smaller protagonist, no words are exchanged as the second character had no time to talk in her 'busy life'. Also people in the city are usually in a rush and hate being slowed down. As the second character was not the focus of the opening, we did not spend to long focusing on her.
